Justice for All
All people are created equal with unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The South Carolina Association for Justice shares that belief and further believes that denying access to justice or liberty simply based on the color of one’s skin breaks the promise of America.
The fight for equal justice for all is the cornerstone on which our association was built. We hope that the tragic event of George Floyd can be transformative by ushering in new substantive policies to help prevent more senseless deaths and brutality.
Justice is not just in our name. It is our heart. SCAJ has been committed to fighting racism, injustice, and inequality for over 60 years. Our members have a long history of being the light in the darkness of our cases and causes. They have played a role in upholding justice, fighting for equal rights, and accountability for all, no matter how powerful or well connected. Without the unique efforts and talents of members of our association, so many would be left without a voice.
As our nation and our communities continue to bear witness to the difficult truths that must be told, we want you to know that SCAJ is listening and will stand ready to help.
Distracted Driving Campaign
SCAJ knows our mission to serve the cause of justice for all extends beyond the courtroom. Our Association believes it is our civic duty to tirelessly give our time, talents and treasures to projects and causes that help our clients and our communities.
SCAJ is teaming up with the Casey Feldman Foundation, EndDD.org, and 60forSafety.org to present SCAJ's End Distracted Driving Program to South Carolina high schools.
Joel Feldman, a trial lawyer at Anapol Schwartz in Philadelphia started this program after his daughter Casey was tragically killed by a distracted driver three years ago. Out of this tragedy spawned Joel's quest to bring the message about the dangers of distracted driving to teenagers throughout the country.
SCAJ's End Distracted Driving Program is a one hour power point presentation that SCAJ members can deliver to a local high school. Our goal is to reach every high school, public or private in the State of South Carolina.
If you are interested in volunteering as a speaker for our distracted driving program, please contact our Director of Membership & Development at 803-799-5097.
